At the Second Autonomous Driving Industry Development Forum held in Beijing on April 25, Jiang Yajia, General Manager of the Smart Transportation Product Department at China Mobile Shanghai Industrial Research Institute, presented the company's innovative practices in empowering the high-quality development of the autonomous driving industry. The forum's theme focused on accelerating industrial growth and building consensus on safety.
Jiang Yajia emphasized that autonomous driving has entered a critical phase of large-scale commercial application, creating urgent demands for reliable network services, efficient computing power, and professional intelligent solutions. To address core industry challenges and development needs, China Mobile is focusing on three key areas:
First, enhancing network service capabilities by establishing high-reliability, high-stability, and priority-dedicated network systems to build a solid foundation for the widespread adoption of autonomous driving technology.
Second, constructing a computing infrastructure matrix with hierarchical deployment and coordinated capabilities to deeply empower various applications such as vehicle-city integration, automotive R&D, and user mobility, thereby addressing imbalances in computing supply and demand.
Third, leveraging the full-stack AI technological advantages of the National AI Application Pilot Base (automotive manufacturing direction) to enable intelligent upgrades across the entire lifecycle of autonomous vehicles—from R&D and smart manufacturing to model evaluation and safety supervision—driving industrial efficiency and quality improvements.
Jiang Yajia stated that China Mobile Shanghai Industrial Research Institute will continue to lead the vehicle-network sub-chain, accelerate the integrated layout of communication, computing, and intelligent services, and strengthen full-stack supply for autonomous driving, vehicle networking, and smart cockpit solutions. The institute will also explore token-based operations and 6G frontier technologies to sustainably empower industrial collaboration and upgrade, injecting strong and lasting momentum into the high-quality development of China's autonomous driving industry.
