On September 17, Alipay's official public account published an article titled "No Regret Medicine for Authorization? You Can Query and Revoke on Alipay," responding to public concerns about "account authorization revocation."
The article stated that as services such as online shopping, transportation, food delivery, and medical appointments have gradually moved online, users often need to grant relevant authorizations when using new applications or mini-programs to complete payments and services. Over time, some authorizations may no longer be needed.
To help users centrally manage their authorizations, Alipay launched the "Personal Information Authorization Management" feature as early as 2021. Users can access Alipay, click on "Me - Settings - User Protection Center," and view all authorization lists and details in "Personal Information Authorization Management," with support for revocation at any time.
Alipay reminds users that although authorization information is actively operated by users, it should be checked regularly, and authorizations for applications and services that are no longer used should be revoked promptly, keeping only necessary items. Additionally, in the "User Protection Center," users can also adjust privacy settings and view and manage services such as automatic renewals.
Previously, the topic #Alipay Account Authorization Revocation# topped Weibo's trending searches. Some netizens claimed that the applications authorized by their Alipay accounts were "too numerous to scroll through."
In response, Alipay customer service explained that most of these authorizations are from application mini-programs that selected Alipay account login in quick login options, authorizing different information according to different application requirements, such as location, account name, and gender. They recommend that users regularly clean up authorizations for applications they don't frequently use or are unfamiliar with.
