The US Treasury Secretary has expressed that after leaving his position at the Treasury Department, he intends to continue researching matters related to supply chains, military preparedness, artificial intelligence policy, and financial regulation in a non-official capacity.

He stated that he has absolutely no intention of running for president or any other elected public office. "I would never consider such positions," he said, adding, "I would be the Colin Powell of this administration."

However, when questioned about matters related to the Federal Reserve, he paused briefly and responded, "I do not rule out the possibility of serving as Federal Reserve Chair in the future. That position does not require an election, allows one to steer economic direction, and belongs to an independent institutional structure."
