Insta360 has officially opened its first direct-operated flagship store in the United States, located in the heart of New York's Times Square. The store began a trial operation phase in early September and welcomed the public for full-scale business on September 19, local time.

To mark the grand opening, the flagship store is offering a range of exclusive promotions, as highlighted on its opening signage. Customers can receive a maximum discount of USD 110 on camera purchases. Additionally, those who buy the X6 or Luna series cameras will receive complimentary accessories and gain a chance to win limited-edition New York merchandise.

During the soft-launch period, the store attracted numerous consumers who came in to inquire about pricing and test the products firsthand. According to the in-store display information, the X6, which Insta360 released in August, is priced at USD 699.99 in the US market. Converting this at an exchange rate of USD 1 to RMB 6.69, that translates to approximately RMB 4,683. In comparison, the official Chinese website lists the same model at RMB 3,999.

Based on these listed prices, the pre-tax cost of the X6 in the US is roughly RMB 684 higher than in China, representing a price gap of about 17%. However, for those purchasing in New York, an additional sales tax of 8.875% applies, bringing the final checkout price to approximately USD 762.11, or about RMB 5,099. This amounts to a difference of nearly RMB 1,100 compared to the Chinese official website price, widening the price disparity to approximately 28%.

Among other newly launched products, the Luna series standard kit is retailing at USD 769.99, while the Go Ultra Hello Kitty standard kit is priced at USD 569.99. For existing products, the Insta360 X5 standard kit is available for RMB 2,998 on the Chinese official website, whereas the US official website lists it at USD 549.99, which converts to roughly RMB 3,679 at the aforementioned exchange rate. The pre-tax US price for the X5 is therefore about RMB 681 higher than its Chinese counterpart, a gap of roughly 23%. When factoring in New York's sales tax, the final checkout price for the X5 climbs to approximately USD 598.80, or about RMB 4,006—exceeding the domestic price by close to RMB 1,008 and marking a price difference of around 34%.
