Lotus Technology (LOT.US) released its unaudited financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, on August 27, showcasing continued improvement in earnings quality. The company achieved a steady rise in gross margin while significantly narrowing various loss metrics, reflecting the effectiveness of its refined financial management approach.

According to the earnings report, global deliveries for Lotus Technology reached 3,904 units in the first half of 2026, marking a 39% year-on-year increase that outpaced traditional premium luxury automakers. The product mix continued to optimize, with lifestyle SUV and sedan deliveries surging 57% to 3,008 units, now representing 77% of total deliveries. Meanwhile, the sports car segment maintained stable sales, resulting in a well-balanced overall product portfolio.

The core driver of this sales growth was the successful launch of the new plug-in hybrid model, the For Me, which has gained strong market recognition and enabled the brand to enter a new market segment. On the revenue front, the company posted total revenue of $268 million for the first half, up 23% year-on-year, with robust growth in the Chinese market serving as the primary catalyst.

Regional performance showed a divergent yet positive trend, with China deliveries climbing 60% year-on-year, outpacing the broader premium passenger vehicle market despite intensifying competition. The company's global expansion continues to deepen, with the Lotus For Me now delivering in China and six overseas markets. The model is slated to enter mainland Europe in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by the UK market in mid-2027, signaling sustained momentum for overseas growth.

Lotus Technology CEO Feng Qingfeng commented: "The first-half results clearly demonstrate that we are steadily executing our Focus 2030 transformation strategy. The strong market demand for our new plug-in hybrid models validates our multi-powertrain approach and helps us expand into new target markets. The simultaneous improvement in scale and operational efficiency is encouraging, and we remain committed to creating long-term sustainable value. Looking ahead, we will firmly advance the Focus 2030 strategy, leveraging our multi-powertrain product momentum, accelerating global expansion, and continuously enhancing operational efficiency. Through products such as the Emira 420 Sport and the upcoming V8 hybrid sports car Type 135, we will continue to uphold Lotus's racing heritage."
