"In recent years, I have genuinely felt the Party and the state's care for our new employment community becoming more detailed and more warm," Li Yan said. "I have gradually come to feel seen, respected, and recognized."

Li Yan's remarks highlight the growing acknowledgment of new employment groups as vital components of the socialist workforce and indispensable contributors to economic and social development. Across various regions, authorities have been making dedicated efforts to alleviate difficulties for these workers and strengthen their rights and protections.

Li Yan described the tangible improvements in his working conditions. "I signed a direct labor contract with JD.com, and the company pays the full five insurances and one housing fund for us full-time riders, which has resolved our concerns while working away from home," he explained. "The warm service stations and rider-friendly facilities scattered across the city provide us with places to rest, hydrate, and recharge our devices when we're tired from deliveries. These are real, concrete safeguards."

Discussing the growing participation of new employment groups in social governance, Li Yan observed a shift in the role of riders. In the past, riders focused solely on completing orders and increasing income, but now "we are not just providing services—we are actively participating in urban co-construction." He described the vast network of new employment workers as the "mobile eyes" of the city, embedded in every street and alley.

"I am a rider, but also a volunteer and a food safety social supervisor," Li Yan noted. "This year, I have helped elderly people who fell on the road and assisted in handling several sudden traffic incidents. As riders traverse the streets, we can report food safety hazards at stores and damaged road manhole covers in a timely manner. The party committee for the online delivery industry and JD.com have always encouraged us to be proactive and serve society."

Li Yan also shared a personal milestone that underscored the recognition of frontline workers. "While working in the Beijing municipal sub-center, I had the honor of appearing on the stage of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Residents' Spring Festival Gala as a representative of the new employment group," he said. "This recognition and care for frontline workers fills me with greater love for this city, and we will continue to pass on this warmth and support. I also look forward to even more channels in the future to hear our voices as frontline workers in the new employment sector."
