On August 26, a dedicated event focused on patent commercialization across Xinjiang's forestry, fruit, grain, and food processing sectors was held at the Su-Yi Industrial Technology Collaboration and Development Center in Yining County. During this gathering, 31 agricultural-related invention patents owned by 14 enterprises in Yili Prefecture were recognized with a total of 310,000 yuan in science and technology innovation awards, presented to leading enterprises within the agricultural industry chain.

The event was jointly organized by the Office of the Leading Group for Quality and Intellectual Property Strengthening in the Autonomous Region and the Office of the Corps Quality Strong Corps Construction Coordination and Promotion Leading Group. It was hosted by the Yili Prefecture Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Office), the Market Supervision Administration of the Fourth Division Kekedala City of the Corps, the Autonomous Region Intellectual Property Protection Center, and the Yining County Market Supervision Administration.

In recent years, Yili Prefecture has focused on bridging the gap between laboratory innovations and frontline production, fully unlocking the value of existing patents in the forestry, fruit, grain, and food processing industries. By effectively leveraging patents to drive industrial upgrades, the region aims to enhance the quality and efficiency of the entire green industry cluster and cultivate new quality productive forces in the agricultural and forestry food sector, ensuring that patented technologies take deep root in the industrial landscape.

Since the beginning of this year, intellectual property pledge financing has secured 224 million yuan in loans for local enterprises, fully demonstrating the empowering potential of IP assets. During the event, the "Patent-Related Data for Xinjiang's Forestry, Fruit, Grain, and Food Processing Sectors" was released, and special funds were awarded to six enterprises in Yili Prefecture designated to undertake the 2026 Autonomous Region Patent Implementation Projects.

Additionally, the event showcased the achievements of patent commercialization and the industry patent database for the region's forestry, fruit, grain, and food processing fields. Multiple agreements were signed for patent commercialization and intellectual property pledge financing, alongside experience-sharing sessions on rapid patent pre-examination and IP pledge financing. The event also highlighted industrial technology needs and promoted high-value agricultural patent results, establishing a specialized platform for collaboration among regulatory authorities, research institutions, agricultural enterprises, and financial organizations.

Zhang Li, Director of the Intellectual Property Division at the Yili Prefecture Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Office), noted: "Our office has consistently prioritized quality-oriented guidance and patent mining among innovative entities, leading to a steady improvement in the quality and efficiency of intellectual property creation. This year, the prefecture has seen a total of 515 newly granted invention patents, a 10% year-on-year increase, while overseas patent applications have surged by 200%. Through the Autonomous Region's patent implementation projects and various awards for technological innovation by leading enterprises in the agricultural chain, we have secured 2.16 million yuan in project funding for over 20 enterprises, fully releasing the empowering force of intellectual property."
