After seven months of meticulous development, Luoma Lake, known as Shunyi's "Little Houhai," has reopened to the public as the "International Exchange Vitality Waterfront." This new lakeside landmark integrates leisure walkways, ecological landscapes, and specialty dining, offering nearby residents the chance to "see water from their windows and enjoy scenery right outside their doors." It has also become a fresh leisure destination for residents in northeastern Beijing.

As a key component of the Longdao River Waterfront Space Enhancement Project—a major urban development initiative in Shunyi District—the renovation of Luoma Lake included upgrades to hydraulic facilities, landscape improvements, and ecosystem restoration. The lakeside walking path, now fully connected, is paved with eco-friendly permeable materials, enhancing both comfort and rainwater drainage.

Notably, the path features vibrant ground murals, complementing the existing marathon track in Houshayu Town. Scenic pavilions and creative signage along the route add to the visual appeal of lakeside strolls. On sunny winter days, many visitors can be seen walking or jogging along the path.

Nighttime ambiance has also been elevated as part of the renovation. A total of 144 lampposts line the lake, each serving a distinct purpose: floodlights ensure basic illumination, pattern lights and tree uplights create a romantic atmosphere, and background music from full-range speakers enhances the charm of Luoma Lake’s western shore after dark.

Beyond infrastructure upgrades, the surrounding dining scene has also improved. The lakeside area now hosts a cluster of specialty restaurants, offering local creative cuisine and international flavors to cater to diverse tastes. Some establishments feature floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing diners to enjoy panoramic lake views alongside their meals—a feast for both the palate and the eyes.
