Macau Bond Issuance: China's Finance Ministry Secures 6.4x Oversubscription on RMB 6 Billion Sovereign Notes

China's Ministry of Finance has successfully completed a sovereign bond sale in Macau, raising a total of RMB 6 billion through a bookbuilding process aimed at professional investors on August 20.

The offering attracted robust demand, with total subscriptions reaching RMB 38.591 billion, representing an oversubscription ratio of approximately 6.43 times the initial issuance size, according to official data.

The issuance was structured across four tranches with varying maturities. The 2-year notes, valued at RMB 3 billion, were priced with a coupon rate of 1.3%. A 3-year tranche of RMB 1 billion carried an interest rate of 1.33%, while the 5-year notes, also amounting to RMB 1 billion, offered a yield of 1.46%. The longest-dated securities, the 10-year bonds worth RMB 1 billion, were issued at a rate of 1.76%.
