Hangzhou-based biopharma company Jiuyuan Gene has published its second Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, approved by the board on 30 March 2026. The document details governance upgrades, environmental metrics, workforce data and new medium-term sustainability targets for the year ended 31 December 2025.

Governance and compliance • A four-tier structure—Board, ESG Committee, ESG Office and cross-departmental Working Group—now oversees strategy, execution and reporting. • Anti-corruption and anti-fraud systems were reinforced; no litigation, investigations or penalties were recorded. • Data-security controls were expanded with network isolation, domain control and ISO-aligned quality systems; no privacy breaches occurred.

Environmental performance • Total greenhouse-gas emissions reached 19,668 tCO₂e (Scope 1: 162 t; Scope 2: 19,505 t), equal to 15.06 tCO₂e per million RMB revenue. • Electricity use totalled 19,644 MWh; heat consumption was 79,102 GJ. • Water withdrawal was 201,139 t, or 153.98 t per million RMB revenue—already 1 % lower than 2024 and targeted for a further 1 % cut in 2026. • Hazardous waste amounted to 41 t (0.03 t per million RMB revenue); non-hazardous waste was 230 t (0.18 t per million RMB revenue). • Air-pollutant output stood at 114.5 kg NOx, 0.2 kg SOx and 10.8 kg particulates. • A clean-production audit and EMS roll-out underpin plans to hold energy and GHG intensities flat in 2026 while tightening water and packaging-material controls.

Innovation and product responsibility • The company maintains six technology platforms and more than ten pipeline assets across orthopaedics, metabolic disease, oncology and haematology. • 2025 commercial launches included Jilixin (Avatrombopag Maleate) and Jixinfen (Pegylated G-CSF). • Intellectual-property portfolio: 11 valid patents, 40 registered trademarks and one copyright; no infringement disputes reported. • Quality systems carry ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and Brazilian GMP certifications; all 19 product batches passed external random inspections.

Human capital • Headcount: 1,794 employees (53 % male, 47 % female); turnover 220 employees. • Zero work-related fatalities; six injuries led to 371 lost days. • Training: 118,564 hours delivered; 100 % of new hires completed induction. • Promotions: 52 roles filled through transparent competition; dual-channel career development framework strengthened. • Benefits include full social insurance, dynamic pay reviews, parental leave, female-health initiatives and company-funded medical mutual-aid schemes.

Supply-chain and community engagement • Active supplier base of 918, 86 % in mainland China; green-procurement criteria now embedded in audits and quality agreements. • Public-welfare spending reached RMB0.31 million, including rural-revitalisation scholarships and emergency relief following the Wang Fuk Court fire in Hong Kong.

Outlook Jiuyuan Gene plans to maintain its GHG and electricity intensities, slash water-use intensity by another 1 % in 2026 and deepen low-carbon product development while preserving growth momentum that has kept annual revenue above RMB1 billion in recent years.
