Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) reported robust interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2026, buoyed by strong demand across electric-vehicle (EV) batteries, energy-storage systems (ESS) and battery materials.
\n\nKey Financials • Revenue rose 54.80% year on year to RMB 276.92 billion, driven by a 46.02% increase in EV battery sales to RMB 192.12 billion and an 87.54% surge in ESS revenue to RMB 53.26 billion. • Net profit attributable to shareholders climbed 41.98% to RMB 43.28 billion; net profit excluding non-recurring items advanced 43.44% to RMB 39.01 billion. • Gross profit margin slipped to 23.93% from 25.02%, while operating cash flow inched up 2.61% to RMB 60.22 billion. • Total assets expanded 16.83% to RMB 1.14 trillion; net assets attributable to shareholders increased 12.53% to RMB 379.35 billion. • Cash and cash equivalents stood at RMB 340.59 billion, with total borrowings of RMB 146.54 billion.

\n\nDividend The board declared a cash interim dividend of RMB 14.11 per 10 shares (RMB 1.411 per share), totalling RMB 6.49 billion. A-share holders will receive payment in RMB; H-share holders will receive HK$16.29 per 10 shares, converted at RMB0.86616 per HK$1. The record date for H shares is 13 August 2026, with payment scheduled for 3 September 2026.
\n\nMarket Position & Operations According to SNE Research, CATL’s global EV battery usage share reached 40.2% for January–May 2026, up 2.2 percentage points year on year, while it retained the No. 1 position in global ESS battery shipments. The company continued to expand capacity at multiple sites in China and overseas and completed an HK$39.12 billion H-share placement in April 2026 to fund global projects and zero-carbon initiatives.
