On July 16th, the "2026 Sina Global Capital Summit," organized by Sina Finance, was held in Hong Kong, China. The summit, themed "Rooted in Hong Kong, with a Global Vision," brought together leading figures from global politics, business, academia, and research for in-depth discussions on key topics such as global capital market trends, cross-border capital allocation, and the overseas expansion of technology companies.

The distinguished guest list included senior government officials, representatives from international financial organizations, top investment banks, industry leaders, and academic pioneers. Notable participants included Liang Zhenying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; Ian Goldin, former Vice President of the World Bank and Professor at the University of Oxford; Wang Zhonglin, Academician and founding Director and Chief Scientist of the Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Charles Li, founder of Micro Connect and former CEO of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd.; Ding Chen, CEO of CSOP Asset Management; and Xing Ziqiang, Chief China Economist at Morgan Stanley. They engaged in high-level dialogue on new trends in the global financial markets.

Hong Hao, a renowned economist and Chief Investment Officer of Lotus Asset Management, attended and delivered remarks.

"Young people are not buying luxury handbags anymore; instead, they are buying Labubu and related items. The performance and stock prices of companies like Pop Mart in the new consumption sector have been exceptionally strong," Hong Hao stated, using this micro-level observation to highlight a new shift in China's economy and financial markets.

Furthermore, Hong Hao indicated that currently, everyone is heavily invested in semiconductors. Capital is flowing where it should, entering the realm of financial innovation and the financial markets, helping Chinese listed companies raise funds for reinvestment. This is the kind of change we want to see.
