GT GOLD Shares Surge Over 7% as Gold Price Recovery Nears and Mine Trial Operations Begin

Shares of GT GOLD (HKEX: 08299) surged more than 7% in morning trading, rising 7.14% to HK$0.30 by the latest update, with a trading volume of HK$6.078 million.

On the news front, the international gold price rebounded intraday to US$4,100 per ounce as of July 22. It is noteworthy that the precious metals market experienced a sharp swing in the first half of 2026, moving from historic highs to a deep correction. Currently, gold prices have partially priced in the Federal Reserve's hawkish expectations, leaving limited room for further downward valuation adjustments. Furthermore, considering that trading on rate hike expectations has become relatively crowded, precious metals may instead approach a window for a corrective rebound following their significant decline.

An analysis highlighted that the newly acquired Ningshan Gold Mine by GT GOLD is set to commence trial operations this month. Concurrently, the technical renovation at the Taizhou Mining Mine is entering its final stages. The company's production growth momentum is transitioning from reliance on a "single mine" in the past to a "multi-faceted expansion" model. This shift is expected to enhance the certainty and potential magnitude of the company's future performance delivery.

Additionally, the implementation of AI-based exploration technology is poised to provide differentiated competitiveness for the company's resource reserve expansion over the medium to long term. With trading on rate hike expectations being crowded and the window for a gold price recovery drawing closer, GT GOLD, which combines quality internal growth with efficient external expansion, is unlikely to remain in its current undervalued state for much longer.
