Beijing Extends Multiple Subway Lines on Third Day of Mid-Autumn Holiday

On the third day of the Mid-Autumn holiday, Beijing has extended operating hours on multiple subway lines to handle the return travel rush.

During the first two days of the Mid-Autumn holiday, Beijing transported approximately 1.483 million railway passengers, with 920,000 passengers on September 25 and 563,000 passengers on September 26.

Today, the holiday enters its return peak, with an estimated 768,000 passengers expected to return to Beijing by train. The "eight stations and two airports" are ensuring smooth return travel through measures including extended subway operating hours, increased bus capacity, discounted airport bus fares, and strengthened taxi dispatch.

Today, seven lines 鈥?subway Lines 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 14, and the Daxing Airport Express 鈥?are operating as a connected network with extended hours. The Daxing Airport Express will operate until 11:30 PM, while the other six lines will run until 2:00 AM the following day.

Bus services are increasing departure frequency on night routes, operating emergency shuttle buses, and adding backup vehicles for airport buses at night. Airport bus routes are offering limited-time discounts, with two airport bus routes operating around the clock.

Meanwhile, taxis are strengthening nighttime "guaranteed service" operations. Ride-hailing services are prioritizing dispatch to key stations and implementing incentive mechanisms. In the Beijing Railway Station area, taxi short-trip orders have been moved online with intelligent dispatch management, making short-distance connection services more efficient and standardized.

Currently, intelligent ride-hailing queuing systems and electronic screens are in operation at Beijing West Railway Station, Beijing South Railway Station, Beijing North Railway Station, Beijing Chaoyang Railway Station, Beijing Fengtai Railway Station, and Beijing Tongzhou Railway Station.

To ensure passenger travel, Beijing Railway plans to add 86 additional pairs of passenger trains today, mainly heading to Harbin, Shenyang, Dalian, Datong, Qingdao, Shanghai, Wuhan, as well as Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao, and other destinations.

Passengers should note that the ride-hailing pickup point at Daxing Airport has been relocated to the new ride-hailing area on the northeast side of the terminal building (formerly P2 parking garage). Passengers are advised to proceed via Gate 14 on the east side of the terminal's second floor and wait in an orderly manner according to the zone markers and numbered guidance at the pickup point.
