Woman Claims Trip.com Forced Shopping on "Pure Play" Tour Despite 13,000 Yuan Fee, Company Yet to Respond

According to media reports, Ms. Wang from Zhengzhou recently spent 13,500 yuan booking a six-day, five-night premium tour to Yunnan through Trip.com for her family of three. The tour was marketed as "Yunnan's first pure vacation travel group" with explicit promises of "no shopping throughout the journey" and "pure play experience," but the family encountered a disappointing experience.

Ms. Wang's actual itinerary severely deviated from the promises: on the fourth day, the group was arranged to visit two shopping stores, with one store conducting forced sales pitches for over two hours, preventing tourists from dining on time; actual sightseeing time was significantly compressed, and most arranged attractions were free scenic spots; the promised "Dali first-line sea view room" turned out to be a "sea-glimpse room," and the promised "Erhai Lake cruise" project was not delivered.

After Ms. Wang filed a complaint, Trip.com's attitude was dismissive, only stating that "relevant personnel are handling it" and claiming they had provided explanations to the cultural and tourism bureau, but offered no specific solutions. Ms. Wang has now filed a formal complaint with the cultural and tourism authorities.

Regarding this matter, when contacted for comment on the situation, Trip.com has not yet responded.
