NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ: NVDA) is set to establish a research and development (R&D) center in South Korea and has already commenced the recruitment of relevant talent. This center is anticipated to become a crucial hub for the company to strengthen its collaboration with South Korea on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Looking ahead, NVIDIA plans to partner with major South Korean corporations such as Samsung, SK Group, Hyundai Motor, and LG to enhance the AI supply chain and foster cooperation in fields like robotics and physical AI.

CEO Jensen Huang stated that his visit to South Korea brought the "surprise gift" of numerous business opportunities, while also publicly announcing the plan for the R&D center for the first time. Industry observers had previously speculated that Huang's visit might lead to the establishment of an AI-related R&D facility in the country, a plan now officially confirmed.

Huang remarked, "We have already started recruiting relevant talent and plan to continuously expand hiring at the new campus. Once a sufficient talent pool is established, we will immediately commence construction of the R&D center."

He highlighted that the AI ecosystem, robotics technology, and the advanced manufacturing environment were key factors in NVIDIA's decision to establish its R&D center in South Korea.
