South Korea's space agency announced on Tuesday that it plans to launch a research probe by 2031 into the region between Earth and the Moon to observe solar activity. The Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) stated in a press release that this initiative will be formally unveiled at the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) academic conference in Florence, Italy, which runs through local Sunday. Established in 1958, COSPAR is dedicated to promoting international space science collaboration and the exchange of research data. KASA also indicated it will hold bilateral meetings with multiple space agencies, including NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), to explore cooperative efforts in lunar exploration, space telescopes, and space science.
