Recently, the Henan Provincial Engineering Construction Association issued a notice announcing the results of the first batch of evaluations for new technology applications in provincial engineering projects for 2026.

The Hebi 107 Project, constructed by CCCC First Highway Engineering Group, was rated as excellent, becoming a provincial benchmark demonstration project for new technology application in the Hebi highway sector this year.

This recognition is due to its integrated application of new technologies throughout the entire process and the successful implementation of multiple independent innovations.

The National Highway 107 Hebi section rerouting project starts from Tunzi Town in Xun County and ends at the starting point of the Xinxiang section, spanning a total length of 44.6 kilometers and built to the standard of a two-way six-lane first-class highway.

As the largest and longest national highway livelihood project in Hebi City in terms of investment scale and mileage, the project has tackled construction challenges through technological innovation and ensured engineering quality with intelligent construction, delivering an impressive example of technological transformation in highway development.

Upon completion, the steel box girder bridge crossing the Taihui Expressway will significantly reduce travel time between Hebi's urban area and Tunzi Town, alleviate traffic pressure on the old G107 and National Highway 515, help build a more efficient regional transportation network, and inject transportation momentum into local economic growth.

During the construction period, the project faced complex geology along the route, concentrated rainfall during the flood season, significant difficulties in land acquisition and relocation coordination, and numerous bridge and subgrade structures, making it hard for traditional construction methods to balance multiple objectives of quality, schedule, and green construction.

Adhering to the principle of "revitalizing industry through technology and improving quality through intelligence," the project team systematically promoted advanced, complete sets of new highway engineering technologies, establishing an innovative construction system covering the entire chain from precast beam yards, subgrade and pavement, bridge structures, to digital management and control.

The project deeply implemented 18 core advanced highway construction technologies, covering all processes from steel bar processing and precast components to intelligent tensioning, unmanned operations, and digital control, fundamentally overcoming the traditional shortcomings of low precision, high reliance on manual labor, and high maintenance costs in highway construction.

Building on the large-scale adoption of mature new technologies, the project's technical team continued to tackle on-site challenges, forming a multi-level, systematic set of independent innovations, while simultaneously enhancing the full spectrum of technological reserves including industry standards, construction methods, patents, QC, and BIM.

The integrated application of new technologies, processes, and equipment brought multiple benefits in quality, efficiency, safety, and environmental protection to the project.

Intelligent equipment replaced a large amount of manual labor, significantly reducing workforce requirements for key processes like subgrade, beam slabs, and guardrails.

Slipform and prefabricated factory-based construction shortened on-site work cycles, enabling the mainline to open to traffic on schedule, which diverts through-traffic outside the city, completely resolving the congestion, dust, and traffic safety hazards caused by the old G107 route passing through the urban area.

The implementation of various plastic formworks, reusable support frames, and recycled stabilized material mix ratio technologies reduced construction waste and raw material consumption, putting the concept of green highway construction into practice.

Full-process digital control minimized quality variations due to human factors, with all indicators for subgrade compaction, bridge strength, and pavement smoothness along the entire route exceeding standard specifications, greatly enhancing the durability of the physical structure.

Moving forward, the Hebi 107 Project team will systematically organize the complete sets of construction technologies, innovative methods, and patent achievements, summarizing a standardized implementation path for intelligent construction of first-class highways, and sharing replicable, actionable technical experience with provincial and national trunk highway projects across the province.

The project will continue to leverage technological innovation, deepening its expertise in the field of intelligent transportation infrastructure construction, using technology to empower high-quality engineering projects, and contributing the Hebi model to the high-quality, digital, and green development of Henan Province's highway and transportation industry.
