The Tianjin Municipal People's Government Office recently issued the "Tianjin Brain-Computer Interface Innovation and Development Action Plan (2026–2030)." The plan proposes promoting application demonstrations in the consumer sector. It supports the creation of application scenarios for non-invasive brain-computer interfaces in fields such as education, entertainment, culture, sports, and smart living, and encourages deep integration of brain-computer interfaces with the "youth economy" and "silver economy." Enterprises are encouraged to develop products in various forms, such as forehead patches, ear patches, and hair clips, and to create integrated products like helmets, headphones, virtual reality (VR)/augmented reality (AR) headsets, and AR glasses. The development of consumer-grade brain-computer interface products for emotional applications and smart elderly care is also supported. The plan advocates for the broad integration of brain-computer interfaces with intelligent technologies to enhance product performance and personalization, and to promote large-scale applications in areas such as assisted driving, convenient communication, and educational assistance. Additionally, it supports the establishment of brain-computer interface experience centers that combine functions such as exhibition, sales, demonstration, interaction, and experience.
