Following Cathay Pacific, its subsidiary Hong Kong Express has announced it will adjust passenger fuel surcharges starting March 18. For flights departing from Hong Kong, the surcharge will be raised to 290 Hong Kong dollars. Other routes will be determined based on the applicable departure location and local currency. Hong Kong Express stated that recent tensions in the Middle East have led to a significant increase in aviation fuel prices. Fuel is one of the most critical operating costs for airlines, and price fluctuations directly impact overall cost structures. After careful evaluation of recent fuel price trends and the overall operating environment, the company decided to adjust passenger fuel surcharges.
