On January 12, A-shares fluctuated and rose, with the Shanghai Composite Index and the Shenzhen Component Index moving higher. Shanghai aluminum, Shanghai gold, and coking coal all rose over 2%. Industrial silicon, manganese silicon, and stainless steel increased more than 1%. Rebar, hot-rolled coil, rubber, alumina, asphalt, coke, polysilicon, and soybean meal all moved higher. Pulp and caustic soda declined, while glass fell over 1% and fuel oil dropped 2%.

At 10:02, KNOWLEDGE ATLAS, the "world's first large language model stock," surged nearly 20% in early trading.

At 09:57, the AI programming concept saw a volatile intraday rally. Zhuoyi Information hit the 20% limit-up, following Zhongcheng Technology's two consecutive 30% limit-up boards. Puyuan Information and Jin Xiandai rose over 10%, while Xinju Network, Baolande, Chuling Information, and Faben Information followed with gains. The move was fueled by a tweet from Elon Musk on the X platform, previewing an upgrade to xAI's Grok Code next month, which will reportedly support completing many complex programming tasks in one go.

At 09:48, the A-share battery sector experienced a volatile downturn. Defu Technology fell over 10%, while Sunwoda, Hirain Technologies, Kedali, CATL, and Anfu Technology all declined more than 4%.

At 09:26, the Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.35% higher, while the ChiNext Index opened down 0.13%. AI application themes were active, with e-commerce and short drama game sectors leading the gains. The commercial aerospace index continued its upward momentum, and energy metal concept stocks strengthened again. CPO and photovoltaic concept stocks weakened.

At 09:21, the Hang Seng Index opened 0.55% higher, and the Hang Seng Tech Index opened up 0.88%. WuXi Biologics, Meituan, Baidu Group, Zijin Mining, and Bilibili all rose over 2%. KNOWLEDGE ATLAS, the "world's first large language model stock," surged nearly 15%.

At 09:12, the domestic coking coal futures contract rose as much as 3.9% to 1,235 yuan per ton. Shanghai nickel increased by up to 3.7%.

At 09:01, commodity futures opened with the lithium carbonate main contract hitting the limit-up. Shanghai silver surged over 10%, platinum and palladium rose over 5%, and Shanghai tin gained over 4%. Shanghai nickel and crude oil increased over 3%. International copper, Shanghai gold, Shanghai copper, Shanghai aluminum, and coking coal all rose over 2%.
