Shares of Illinois Tool Works (ITW) surged 5.07% in pre-market trading after the industrial products and equipment maker reported second-quarter results that surpassed analyst expectations and lifted its full-year outlook.
The company posted adjusted earnings of $2.84 per share, topping the FactSet consensus estimate of $2.79, while revenue rose 6.1% to $4.30 billion, exceeding the $4.19 billion forecast. Organic revenue growth accelerated to 4.5%, fueled by double-digit growth in the Welding and Test & Measurement and Electronics segments.
ITW also raised its full-year 2026 guidance, now projecting GAAP EPS in the range of $11.35 to $11.55, up from its previous range of $11.10 to $11.50 and above the analyst estimate of $11.31. The company lifted its revenue growth forecast to 4-5% and organic growth outlook to 3-4%, citing strong operational momentum and resilient industrial demand.
