AGCO Corp has announced significant progress in fuel efficiency technology for its Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Valtra brand tractors. These advancements have been validated by the independent DLG PowerMix testing conducted by the German Agricultural Society.

The company attributes the gains in fuel efficiency to engines developed by its powertrain division, AGCO Power, and the deep integration between the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. Kari Aaltonen, Engineering Director at AGCO Power, stated that the division is focused on developing integrated engine and powertrain solutions to deliver measurable benefits under real-world working conditions, helping farmers reduce operating costs without compromising performance or reliability.

Within the latest tractor platforms from the Fendt brand, AGCO Power's CORE series engines form the core of the powertrain. The CORE50 engine powers the Fendt 600 Vario series, while the CORE75 is featured in the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 series. Independent testing shows that the Fendt 700 Vario series equipped with a continuously variable transmission demonstrates exceptional fuel efficiency in both field operations and transport applications.

The Massey Ferguson brand also utilizes AGCO Power engines in its current product line. In recent DLG PowerMix tests, the Massey Ferguson 8S.265 Xtra Dyna E-Power ranked first in the overall field operations score for its category, fully demonstrating the benefits of engine and transmission integration and the overall design advantages of the tractor.

The full range of Valtra brand tractors is also equipped with AGCO Power engines and employs an EcoPower operational concept. This approach maintains high torque output at lower engine speeds, effectively reducing fuel consumption in both field and transport tasks. Additionally, Valtra tractors are equipped with selective catalytic reduction systems to promote efficient combustion.
