Singapore's Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam has stated that due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the possibility of energy supply disruptions in Singapore cannot be ruled out if more suppliers become unable to deliver fuel or natural gas. Speaking in Parliament, Shanmugam indicated that Singapore will continue to advance its solar energy development in the near term and explore options for electricity imports. He added on Tuesday that the government is also evaluating alternative energy sources, such as nuclear power, to diversify the nation's energy mix.
