Shipbuilding Giant Kicks Off IPO Preparations as Listing Guidance Gets Underway

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) website recently revealed that COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. has officially initiated its listing guidance process.

The company has appointed China International Capital Corporation Limited and China Merchants Securities Co., Ltd. as its guidance institutions for the upcoming IPO endeavor.

According to the filing report for listing guidance, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry was established on December 8, 2016, with a registered capital of 3.6 billion yuan. The legal representative is Gu Zhongdong.

China COSCO Shipping Group Co., Ltd. serves as the controlling shareholder, holding 100% of the company's shares directly.

The company's official website describes COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry as the equipment manufacturing industry cluster under China COSCO Shipping Group, a large-scale heavy industry enterprise integrating ship and marine engineering equipment construction, repair and conversion, as well as supporting services.

The company operates nine large and medium-sized shipyards, with an annual capacity to construct over 8 million deadweight tons of various commercial vessels. It has delivered more than 860 ships, with over 10 ship types filling gaps in China's shipbuilding industry.

On the marine engineering front, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry can undertake 12 offshore engineering projects and 20 sets of offshore modules annually. It has already delivered over 50 offshore projects, covering all types from nearshore to deep-sea operations, with multiple projects recognized as world firsts and high-end international products.
