On November 28, the "Qingdian 001," China's first 64TEU all-electric inland container ship certified by the China Classification Society (CCS) and awarded the intelligent navigation "N" notation, was delivered and launched in Huzhou, Zhejiang. As a benchmark for next-generation green and smart vessels, it integrates pure electric propulsion with AI technology, reinforcing China's leading position in inland waterway transport and injecting momentum into fostering advanced productivity in shipping and building a strong transportation sector.

Invested and built by Zhejiang Erqing Group, the "Qingdian 001" measures 64.90 meters in length and can carry 64 standard containers. Equipped with a 3,860 kWh containerized mobile power unit, it takes only 2.5 hours to fully charge and boasts a range of 240 kilometers, achieving true zero-carbon emissions.

For intelligent operations, the ship features a self-developed smart power system and autonomous navigation system by Zhejiang Guorui Technology, a subsidiary of Zhejiang Erqing Group. Capabilities include obstacle avoidance, dynamic route optimization, and shore-based remote monitoring, marking a leap from "manufacturing" to "smart manufacturing" and showcasing China's cutting-edge innovation in green smart vessels.

The "Qingdian 001" will debut on the Huzhou Changxing–Jiaxing Zhapu eco-friendly inland route, utilizing charging stations like the Lüshan water service area in Changxing for efficient green energy replenishment. This initiative aims to create a green shipping corridor through the birthplace of the "Two Mountains" philosophy, turning smart ships into ecological landmarks amid "lucid waters and lush mountains."

Estimates suggest the vessel will reduce annual CO2 emissions by over 200 tons on this route—equivalent to planting 20,000 trees—demonstrating the modern relevance of the "Two Mountains" concept through zero-carbon navigation and smart technology, setting a vivid example for green transformation in inland shipping.
