Shares of Iamgold (IAG) tumbled 5.18% in after-hours trading on Thursday, following the release of the company's second-quarter financial results that fell short of analyst expectations.
The gold miner reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.42, missing the consensus estimate of $0.52 by 19.23%. Quarterly revenue came in at $856.9 million, also below the projected $914.6 million. While both figures marked significant year-over-year improvements — earnings up 223% from $0.13 per share and sales up 47.5% from $580.9 million — the shortfall against Wall Street forecasts triggered a sharp sell-off in the extended session.
