Jiangsu Province has unveiled a financial support initiative that provides a 30% provincial fiscal subsidy for provincial universities purchasing existing commercial housing in lower-priced areas, such as northern Jiangsu, for use as student dormitories.

The funding plan, introduced by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Finance, is part of a three-year action program aimed at expanding and upgrading student housing capacity across provincial universities.

This measure is designed to address shortfalls in student accommodation while simultaneously helping to reduce the province's commercial housing inventory, achieving a dual objective of educational infrastructure improvement and real estate market stabilization.
