Fuel Prices Set to Rise Starting Midnight Tonight

China's fuel prices are officially set to increase from midnight tonight, according to the latest adjustment cycle.

Since the domestic refined oil product price adjustment on August 28th, the renewed escalation of the US-Iran conflict has driven international crude oil prices to climb sharply, with a particularly abnormal surge observed in Middle Eastern oil prices.

To cushion the domestic impact of rising global oil costs and safeguard economic stability alongside public livelihoods, temporary control measures have been implemented for domestic refined oil prices while preserving the existing pricing framework. Based on the current mechanism, the standard price of domestic gasoline and diesel should have risen by 435 yuan and 420 yuan per ton respectively on September 11th, but following the regulatory adjustments, the actual increases will be 260 yuan and 250 yuan per ton.

The National Development and Reform Commission will guide refined oil producers and distributors to ramp up output and transportation to secure a steady market supply. Additionally, enhanced market oversight and inspection efforts will be coordinated with relevant authorities to rigorously penalize any illegal activities, such as failure to implement national pricing policies, thereby maintaining market order and protecting consumer interests.
