SBP GROUP (01177) has announced a joint venture agreement with PT Tempo Scan Pacific Tbk (Tempo Scan) to establish PT TEMPO CTTQ BIOPHARMACEUTICAL INDONESIA (TCBI).

This partnership will combine the group's strengths in innovative R&D, product pipeline, and international strategy with Tempo Scan's local expertise in manufacturing, regulatory registration, market access, sales promotion, and distribution networks across Indonesia, achieving resource complementarity and synergies.

Tempo Scan, with a strong reputation and extensive presence in Indonesia, offers comprehensive production capabilities and a nationwide logistics infrastructure, making it an ideal strategic partner for the group's long-term development in the country.

The group will provide a differentiated product portfolio spanning oncology, specialty care, cardiovascular metabolism, and other therapeutic areas, including several first-to-market branded and innovative drugs, aiming to establish a platform for high-quality medicines for Indonesian patients.

The joint venture will create a long-term cooperation mechanism to accelerate the launch of innovative drugs in Indonesia, strengthen the supply of specialty medicines, and improve patient access to medications.

Under the agreement, the group holds a 51% stake in TCBI, while Tempo Scan holds 49%. TCBI will integrate Tempo Scan's local experience with the group's innovation and product pipeline capabilities, focusing on drug registration, clinical development, medical affairs, market access, and commercialization of all drug categories. It will also assess the feasibility of future local production.

Several products have already received local regulatory approvals or are under review, laying a solid foundation for TCBI's long-term growth. TCBI is actively preparing for operations, with the first batch of specialty drugs to be launched gradually after regulatory approvals and operational readiness.

The joint venture reflects a shared vision to enhance access to innovative therapies for Indonesian patients and support the long-term development of the country's pharmaceutical industry. Currently, both parties are advancing registration and launch efforts for multiple specialty and innovative drugs, with products set to be phased in according to regulatory progress. Some products have already been approved, while several others are under review.

Beyond commercial cooperation, the parties will also explore opportunities in academic exchange, local clinical development, production technology transfer, and future local manufacturing to support the ongoing growth of Indonesia's pharmaceutical and healthcare ecosystem.
