Gao Dekang, founder and chairman of BOSIDENG, attended and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Gao Dekang emphasized that as a leading enterprise in China's textile and apparel industry, BOSIDENG firmly believes that sustainable development is not an option, but an imperative for a company's survival and growth. BOSIDENG integrates the concept of sustainable development into its corporate DNA through an ESG strategy, exploring new paths for the high-quality development of Chinese apparel brands and sustainable fashion. Gao Dekang shared his insights, practices, and vision regarding sustainable fashion: 1. Strategic Leadership: Building ESG Development Competitiveness. Gao Dekang stated that BOSIDENG’s sustainable development journey is defined by a responsibility-driven transformation. As early as 2000, the company invested 10 million yuan in initiatives to protect the mother river and the Green Hope Project, establishing a 10 million yuan reward fund for mother river protection. In 2001, it took its first step in environmental governance by certifying the ISO 14001 environmental management system. In 2017, they released their first Environmental, Social, and Governance report and have gradually incorporated sustainable development into the corporate strategy. In 2024, based on in-depth reflections and systematic planning on sustainable development, they established a 1+3+X ESG strategic framework with clear consumer-centric guiding vision for sustainable fashion and defined specific phased goals. This year, BOSIDENG further clarified the implementation of an integrated platform, six key issues, and thirteen initiatives for ESG development, coordinating ESG efforts along the corporate value chain, and embedding ESG fully into the company’s strategy and practice, thereby demonstrating a strong sense of corporate responsibility. 2. Product Innovation: Technology and Innovation Define Responsible Fashion. He believes that the vitality of fashion lies in innovation, while the vitality of sustainable fashion lies even more in the fusion of innovation and responsibility; BOSIDENG is deeply embedding sustainable low-carbon and circular fashion concepts throughout the product value chain, making responsibility the top logic of fashion. He highlighted that in the product manufacturing phase, BOSIDENG collaborated with suppliers to develop eco-friendly protective fabrics with over 70% bio-content, achieving scaled operations and ensuring that 100% of their down products acquire the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certification, thus assuring both parties. BOSIDENG is leading the establishment of collective standards for circular fashion design, filling the gap in the industry regarding circular fashion design, and advancing product carbon footprint certification and zero-carbon initiatives in cooperation with professional review organizations. In the product retail phase, BASIDENG is advancing zero-carbon store construction through three core strategies: energy revolution, spatial reiteration, and operational restructuring. He provided an example of the BOSIDENG flagship store in Sanlitun, Beijing, which utilizes a smart store service system that significantly reduces operational energy consumption while innovating carbon-neutral product labels to make green consumption perceivable and relatable. 「The global emphasis on environmental protection and sustainable development profoundly influences consumers’ purchasing behavior. Consumers are increasingly concerned about the environmental attributes of products, social responsibilities, and the brand philosophies behind them. We innovate membership activities to encourage more members to engage in environmental initiatives. This year, we launched relevant plans, and through various channels, BOSIDENG participates in the Alashan Tree-Planting Project, letting low-carbon consumption become a fashionable lifestyle,」 he said. 3. Positive Nature: Moving Towards Net Zero Carbon Emissions Goals. Gao Dekang noted that in its operational practices, BOSIDENG continuously optimizes energy consumption through technological innovation and management enhancements. They independently developed the GiMS system platform for intelligent clothing manufacturing, a pioneering technology in the industry that automates key processes like filling and packaging, leading to improved quality, efficiency, and significantly enhanced energy efficiency. In supply chain management, BOSIDENG advocates for environmentally compliant practices from its suppliers, promoting energy saving and emissions reduction, and fostering green development by establishing a green supply chain information platform with clear standards for green suppliers. They conduct annual certification activities for green suppliers, leading partners in the supply chain to collectively engage in emissions reduction innovations. 4. People-Oriented: Building a Warm and Cultural Ecology Together. Gao Dekang emphasized that the ultimate goal of sustainable fashion is the sustainable development of people. BOSIDENG adheres to a people-oriented cultural philosophy and strives to create a diverse and inclusive workplace ecosystem, growing together with its employees and providing them with ample development space and favorable working conditions. In terms of social welfare, during the early development phase of the company in the 1980s, it actively engaged in charitable initiatives, building bridges and roads to give back to society. It continues to dig deep in fields like rural revitalization, launching public welfare projects such as "One Enterprise, One Village," which have become the spirit of the brand. He highlighted that the BOSIDENG Public Welfare Foundation has donated over 1.4 billion yuan in total to social causes, benefiting over 1.589 million individuals.
