Windows 10 Support to End in Two Months: Microsoft Urges Users to Upgrade Soon

Microsoft recently reminded users that Windows 10 support will end in two months, with all versions of Windows 10 (including Home, Pro, Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions) ceasing support on October 14. On the same day, Windows 10 2015 LTSB and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB 2015 will also end extended support.

After service termination, Microsoft will no longer provide security vulnerability fixes or technical assistance for Windows 10. Microsoft stated: "The October 2025 monthly security update will be the final update for these versions. After this date, devices running these versions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates containing protection against the latest security threats."

Microsoft recommends that Windows 10 users who wish to continue receiving necessary security updates and vulnerability fixes upgrade eligible devices to Windows 11. For users who want to continue using Windows 10, Microsoft offers the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. Enterprise users will pay $61 per device annually, while home users will pay $30. Additionally, consumers who enable Windows Backup to sync data to the cloud or use Microsoft Rewards points can join the program for free.
