Data released on Monday by the authoritative US vehicle pricing guide Kelley Blue Book indicates that the average transaction price for electric vehicles in the United States during June was $56,238. This represents a year-over-year decrease of 4.5% and marks the sixth consecutive month of decline. This trend persists despite the fact that, due to former President Trump's opposition to EVs, pure electric models no longer qualify for the federal purchase incentive nationwide.

The report further shows that the average transaction price for all new vehicles in the US market in June was $49,758, a year-over-year increase of less than 1%. Within specific segments, the compact SUV category saw its ATP rise by 23% to $31,113, while small and midsize pickup trucks experienced price increases exceeding 12%.

Manufacturer incentives offered directly to consumers saw a slight uptick in June. The report notes, "Incentives as a percentage of average transaction price were 7% in June, up from 6.9% in June 2025 but down from 7.1% in May of this year."

For Tesla Inc, the average transaction price in June was $53,107. This reflects a marginal 0.7% increase from May's figure of $52,760, but a 2.1% decrease compared to the $54,273 average seen in June of the previous year.

The Kelley Blue Book report stated, "The Model Y price fell 2.7% to an average of $51,775," adding that this SUV model accounted for "more than 35%" of total electric vehicle sales.
