Following the announcement of record equity trading revenue, Goldman Sachs is poised to raise $10 billion through the issuance of high-grade bonds, with investor demand for the offering reaching approximately three times the issue size.
According to individuals familiar with the matter, the bond sale launched on Tuesday attracted orders of around $32 billion at the peak of the subscription period.
Goldman Sachs reported quarterly results on Tuesday that significantly exceeded market expectations, with its equities business setting a new all-time high for the third consecutive quarter. The revenue from this business over the past three months alone surpassed the total for all four quarters of the full year 2019.
The bank is issuing a three-part dollar-denominated bond with maturities ranging from 6 to 31 years. One of the sources indicated that the yield on the longest-dated bond will be approximately 113 basis points above the yield on U.S. Treasury securities, representing a tightening of about 22 basis points from the initial price guidance.
