Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing's 2024 total employee compensation (including base salary, allowances, cash bonuses, and remuneration) reached a record high of NT$3.57 million (approximately RMB 834,000 at current exchange rates), significantly higher than the average levels of global high-performance enterprises and high-tech companies.

Compared to the previous year, Taiwan facilities saw year-over-year growth in the number of full-time employees, average salary, and median salary in 2024.

Since 2022, all full-time employees of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and its 100% owned subsidiaries have been eligible to participate in the "Global Employee Stock Purchase Plan." In 2023, this plan was further expanded to include all full-time employees of major overseas subsidiaries. The company provides a 15% stock purchase subsidy, encouraging employees to buy company shares and share in long-term growth results, with over 85% of global employees participating in the plan.

From 2020 to 2024, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing's annual total employee compensation expenses increased from approximately NT$140.8 billion to approximately NT$301.8 billion (approximately RMB 70.477 billion at current exchange rates), while annual per capita compensation expenses grew from NT$2.47 million to NT$3.57 million, an increase of 44.5%.

According to a 2023 employee opinion survey, 84% of employees consider the company's overall compensation reasonable, a proportion superior to global high-performance enterprises (66%) and high-tech companies (61%).

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing's Taiwan facilities implement a two-year reward scheme that includes quarterly "employee cash bonuses" and "employee cash remuneration" distributed the following year, while overseas facilities provide annual cash bonuses or 1-3 year long-term incentive bonus plans based on local market conditions and national circumstances.
