On December 18, a milestone integration of satellite data and computing infrastructure at the Anhui Zhongke Satellite Aerospace Information Industrial Base marked the province's successful deployment of "fifth computing power," strengthening the foundation for intelligent applications across industries.

At the launch event titled "Interconnection of Anhui Computing Resource Coordination Platform and Zhongke Satellite Operation Platform with Satellite Data-Driven Scenario Innovation," the Anhui Computing Resource Coordination Platform—developed by Wuhu Big Data Construction Investment Operation Co.—officially interconnected with Zhongke Satellite's operation platform. This achievement completes the "Five-Computing Convergence" system, integrating general computing, intelligent computing, supercomputing, quantum computing, and space-based computing. For the first time at the provincial level, a full-chain process—from "space-based observation, data reception, computing scheduling, information extraction, to scenario services"—has been realized, positioning Anhui as a national leader in computing resource coordination and data value activation.

Since its launch in May 2024, the Anhui Computing Resource Coordination Platform has successfully unified four computing types: general, intelligent, super, and quantum computing. To date, the platform has pooled 639.2P of general computing power, 41,493.6P of intelligent computing power, 33.3P of supercomputing power, 2,070 quantum bits, and 1.1P of space-based computing power, with computing scheduling transactions exceeding 400 million yuan. It has also distributed nearly 26 million yuan in provincial AI subsidies, advancing fields like scientific research, autonomous driving, humanoid robotics, automotive, and finance.

With the addition of space-based computing, the platform now enables satellite remote sensing services such as archived imaging and programmed shooting. Two AIRSAT satellite computing products and five remote sensing application scenarios have been introduced, facilitating deep synergy between space-based data and multi-type computing power. This supports rapid transformation from "data to information, information to decision-making" in agriculture monitoring, environmental protection, emergency response, and urban planning.

Academician Wu Yirong of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) highlighted that AIR is China's leader in spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology, with Zhongke Satellite serving as its industrialization platform to translate cutting-edge research into practical applications.

Zhongke Satellite's leadership noted that "space computing" represents a frontier field merging space-based computational and aerospace resources with AI. As a key player in China's space computing development, Zhongke Satellite is independently constructing the AIRSAT constellation, currently operating 10 satellites. By 2026, it aims to complete Phase I with 21 satellites in orbit, establishing a responsive and extensive space-based infrastructure network.
