On January 21, data released by Wuhai Customs revealed that the city's total import-export value for 2025 reached 19.84 billion yuan, marking a significant year-on-year increase of 60.06%. This robust growth underscores the city's strong economic resilience and vitality amid a complex and volatile global trade environment.

Wuhai's foreign trade performance in 2025 was characterized by a strong start, steady progression, and simultaneous improvements in both volume and quality. As early as the third quarter, the city's total import-export value had already surpassed 13.28 billion yuan, exceeding the full-year total from the previous year and laying a solid foundation for the ultimate high growth.

The growth is underpinned by continuous structural optimization. In recent years, Wuhai has deepened its engagement with two core markets—the Belt and Road Initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP)—which together account for over 80% of its total trade volume. Market share in emerging economies such as Malaysia, Brazil, and Paraguay has continued to expand, effectively diversifying risks associated with reliance on single markets. Profound transformations in industries and products form the core driver of Wuhai's foreign trade growth. New growth drivers, particularly high-tech products, have performed exceptionally well and are emerging as a new engine leading the expansion. Concurrently, traditional advantageous industries like chemicals have been revitalized in the international market through technological upgrades and product innovation. In 2025, with targeted support from Wuhai Customs, 26 new products from local enterprises successfully made their debut voyage, breaking into overseas markets.

High-quality development in foreign trade is strongly supported by high-level open services. Wuhai Customs has taken proactive measures, implementing mechanisms such as "Customs Chiefs Delivering Policies to Doorsteps" and "One-Stop Service Packages," where customs leaders personally visit key enterprises to provide one-on-one solutions for customs clearance challenges. The customs authority has also vigorously promoted a "online + offline" credit cultivation model to help more qualified enterprises obtain Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status and enjoy international customs clearance facilitation. The precise application of policy benefits has yielded remarkable results; in 2025, the value of goods benefiting from RCEP Certificates of Origin issued by Wuhai Customs surged to over 347 million yuan, a dramatic year-on-year increase of 159.31%, allowing enterprises to tangibly reap the benefits brought by free trade agreements.
