Fengqiu County is located in northeastern Henan Province, southeast of Xinxiang City, facing Kaifeng across the Yellow River to the south. The county covers an area of 1,220.5 square kilometers with 1.24 million acres of cultivated land and a total population of 893,600. Since 2002, MINSHENG BANK has been providing targeted assistance to Fengqiu County. Based on the land and climate characteristics of Fengqiu County, MINSHENG BANK has adapted to local conditions to support the development of industries such as the "Huangde Town Honeysuckle Industrial Park Project" and the "High-tech Sweet Potato Cultivation Pilot Project," helping Fengqiu County achieve poverty alleviation and comprehensively advance the new journey of rural revitalization. At the same time, MINSHENG BANK has promoted rural education revitalization, successively supporting the construction and development of Fengqiu County Minsheng School and Fengqiu County Special Education School, alleviating the enrollment problems for children of villagers around the schools, improving local comprehensive educational capabilities, and achieving development through education.

Industry First: Adapting to Local Conditions to Promote Development

Fengqiu County is known as China's authentic honeysuckle hometown. MINSHENG BANK has focused on characteristic industries to assist the development of the honeysuckle industrial park project in Jiazhuang Village. In 2023, MINSHENG BANK donated 2 million yuan to Jiazhuang Village to build a 30-acre Minsheng experimental field and create a standardized processing factory with cold storage, sorting, and leaf processing equipment, driving employment for 300 township residents and increasing per capita annual income by 10,000 yuan. In 2023, Jiazhuang Village Honeysuckle Industrial Park was approved as a "Henan Provincial Forestry Technology Demonstration Park" and "Henan Economic Crop Modern Technology Demonstration Base."

Li Kai, a MINSHENG BANK official seconded to Fengqiu County, introduced that MINSHENG BANK further introduced partner Henan Normal University in 2024 to enhance the new quality productivity of honeysuckle seed industry. In the 10-acre Minsheng honeysuckle experimental field, eight varieties including "Telei No. 1-3" are being cultivated and grown. Among them, "Telei No. 1" has already shown excellent characteristics such as long flowering period, short cycle, easy picking, sufficient yield, high quality, pest and disease resistance, and no pesticide residue.

Based on this foundation, MINSHENG BANK has provided key support, selecting 300 acres in the Yellow River beach area of Lizhuang Town, adopting the model of "good seeds + good methods + good machinery + good fields + good systems" to build a high-standard honeysuckle planting industrial park and promote the transformation of "Telei No. 1" from trial to mass production. This project is expected to enter its peak flowering period in 2026, with a yield of over 3,000 pounds per acre (achieving 1,500 pounds yield by June 2025), realizing 20,000 yuan income and 10,000 yuan profit per acre.

In Hezhai Village, Fengqiu County, MINSHENG BANK has adapted to local conditions by introducing the "High-tech Sweet Potato Cultivation Pilot Project." According to Li Kai, Hezhai Village has completed a total of 50 acres of sweet potato cultivation, including 30 acres of commercial sweet potatoes, 10 acres of honey sweet potatoes, and 10 acres of watermelon red varieties. This project not only drives villagers' income increase but also guides villagers to master new planting technologies, making new attempts for the development of Hezhai Village's collective economy. Future plans include further expansion to create a replicable and promotable Hezhai Village rural revitalization demonstration project.

Education Strengthening: Consolidating Foundation to Enhance Momentum

Education is an important support for rural revitalization, with pioneering and fundamental roles. MINSHENG BANK has continuously focused on the educational development needs of Fengqiu County's rural areas, successively supporting the construction and development of Fengqiu County Minsheng School and Fengqiu County Special Education School in recent years.

Fengqiu County Minsheng School was built with a cumulative donation of over 45 million yuan in assistance funds from MINSHENG BANK. The school covers an area of 117,000 square meters (175 acres) with a total construction area of 39,000 square meters. It is a nine-year comprehensive (with attached kindergarten) modern public school that was completed on schedule in July 2019 and officially opened in September 2019. Currently, Fengqiu County Minsheng School has music classrooms, art classrooms, reading rooms, laboratories, function rooms, recording studios, standardized sports fields, and indoor gymnasiums, providing favorable conditions for students' comprehensive development. The school operates as one school with three divisions, serving over 4,700 students, effectively alleviating the large class size problem in urban schools and enrollment issues for children of villagers around the school.

Fengqiu County Special Education School is affiliated with the Fengqiu County Education and Sports Bureau. It is a nine-year compulsory education school in Fengqiu County that serves students with hearing impairments, intellectual disabilities, and multiple disabilities. The school covers an area of 3,300 square meters with a construction area of 2,491 square meters. The school currently operates 8 teaching classes and 2 home-visit classes, serving a total of 115 students with 22 teaching staff members.

Cui Qi, Principal of Fengqiu County Special Education School, stated that in 2024, MINSHENG BANK donated 1 million yuan for upgrading and renovating functional classrooms, including recording studios, psychological counseling rooms, scenario simulation classrooms, venting rooms, and sensory integration training rooms. Additionally, electronic class boards, autumn and winter school uniforms, desks and chairs, dining tables and chairs, bunk beds, and podiums were donated. This not only enhanced the school's teaching capabilities but also optimized students' growth environment, effectively promoting rural education revitalization.
