Two pioneering new-energy vessels, the "Yibin Culture & Tourism" and the "Yuncheng 569," successfully completed trial voyages on October 29 and November 7, respectively, under the jurisdiction of the Luzhou Maritime Safety Administration, setting new benchmarks for green shipping development on the Sichuan River.

The "Yibin Culture & Tourism" is the first electric tourist ship designed for rapid river navigation in China. Equipped with a pure electric propulsion system, it achieves zero emissions and low noise, offering an eco-friendly solution for waterborne tourism in challenging river conditions while enhancing passenger experience and protecting the environment.

Meanwhile, the "Yuncheng 569" is Sichuan’s first bulk cargo vessel powered solely by LNG (liquefied natural gas). With advantages such as efficient combustion, clean emissions, and cost-effectiveness, it serves as a model for the green transformation of inland freight transport in Sichuan, promoting sustainable development in regional shipping.

The Luzhou Maritime Safety Administration has played a crucial role in supporting these initiatives by providing comprehensive and meticulous maritime services, injecting strong "green momentum" into the thriving port economy of Luzhou.

Prior to the trial voyages, the administration invited technical experts from Century Communities (CCS) Chongqing Branch to oversee construction inspections and provide guidance. It also organized training for law enforcement personnel on the latest technical standards and conducted rigorous pre-trial inspections to ensure safety.

During the trial voyages, the administration implemented a coordinated "on-site patrol vessel + remote command center" model, offering real-time monitoring and escort services to guarantee the smooth completion of the new-energy vessels' test runs. Additionally, tailored safety plans were developed under a "one ship, one policy" approach to ensure orderly and secure trial operations.

Currently, four more new-energy vessels are under construction in the Luzhou Maritime Safety Administration’s jurisdiction, with orders for such ships experiencing "explosive" growth. The administration remains committed to optimizing the business environment, strengthening collaboration, and addressing development challenges to contribute to the high-quality advancement of Yangtze River shipping.
