Tencent (00700) Games Dominate October Revenue Rankings, NetEase (09999) Secures Five Spots

According to Qimai Data's October 2025 rankings of popular mobile games, Tencent (00700) dominated the top three spots in the revenue chart. "Honor of Kings" claimed the top position, followed by "Delta Force: Operation" in second place, while "Dungeon & Fighter: Origin" climbed four spots to secure third place.

In the download rankings, "Delta Force: Operation" led the chart, with "Valorant: Source Operation" and "Honor of Kings" ranking second and third, respectively. Six new games entered the download Top 30, including "Plants vs. Zombies 3," "Destiny: Starlight," and "Ember," which were released in September and October.

"Plants vs. Zombies 3," officially launched on September 26, introduced new gameplay mechanics, plants, and zombies while retaining the classic tower defense elements. Pre-launch registrations exceeded 18 million, showcasing its strong IP appeal. The game topped the iOS free game chart on September 27.

By genre, action games dominated with nine entries, followed by adventure games with four. Tencent had 11 games in the rankings, while NetEase (09999) secured five spots, including its new title "Destiny: Starlight," which ranked 16th. As the first official mobile adaptation of the sci-fi shooter franchise "Destiny," the game combines PvE shooting with open-world exploration. It topped China's App Store free game chart on October 16 after its pre-download phase began on July 30. Overseas, it ranked first in multiple regions, including the U.S. and South Korea, upon its August 28 launch.

In the revenue rankings, action games led with eight entries, followed by strategy games with five. Tencent contributed 12 games, while NetEase had five. Five new titles entered the revenue chart: "JJ Landlord," "Invincible," "QQ Speed," "Forever Blue Planet," and "Justice." Among them, NetEase’s classic SLG game "Invincible" celebrated its 10th anniversary with in-game events and collaborations, boosting its popularity. Post-update, its ranking surged on the bestseller chart.

Amid rising user acquisition costs and the rapid growth of mini-games, more developers are exploring lightweight adaptations of hardcore SLG titles. For instance, YSJ’s "This City Has Good Farmland" excelled in both app and mini-game formats, consistently ranking among the top simulation games and mini-game bestsellers. Other YSJ titles, including "I Am the Big Boss" and "Business Tycoon," also achieved monthly revenues exceeding 100 million yuan while expanding overseas.
