"I don't care if he stays or not," former President Donald Trump stated when asked about Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's decision to remain on the central bank's board of governors after his term as chair ends.

Trump made the remarks while speaking to reporters at the White House.

"I always assumed he would stay," Trump said.

"I view him as a negative force," Trump added.
