Global Healthcare Opportunities Fund (GHO), an investment firm based in London, and Singapore's CBC Group have jointly announced an agreement to merge. Upon completion, the combined entity will become the world's largest dedicated healthcare investment platform by assets under management, with a total exceeding $21 billion.

According to a joint statement, the transaction is expected to be finalized in early 2027, pending necessary regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions. Until the deal is completed, both firms will continue to operate independently. The statement noted that existing funds and portfolio companies will continue to be managed by their original investment teams post-merger, with their investment mandates, corporate governance, and ownership structures remaining unchanged. Currently, GHO and CBC Group manage approximately $10.5 billion and $10.8 billion in assets, respectively.

Regarding the management structure, Fu Wei, Founder and CEO of CBC Group, and Mike Mortimer, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of GHO, will serve as Co-CEOs of the combined firm. The merged institution will operate 13 offices across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, employing over 200 investment and operational professionals. The statement added that these three regions collectively account for approximately 90% of global healthcare research and development spending.
