Citi has released a research report raising its price target for Standard Chartered (02888) from HK$232.4 to HK$248.4, while reiterating its "Neutral/High Risk" rating on the stock.

The bank has updated its assumptions for the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England, now projecting terminal rates of 4.75% and 4.25% respectively, which has driven an upward revision to Standard Chartered's net interest income forecasts.

Accordingly, Citi has raised its earnings per share estimates for Standard Chartered for 2026 through 2028 by 0% to 5%, positioning them 0% to 7% above consensus market expectations.

Based on the closing price of HK$239.4 on September 22, the projected share price return stands at 3.8%, with an anticipated dividend yield of 2.7%, resulting in a total expected return of 6.5%.
