At the 2026 interim results conference held on August 28, Postal Savings Bank Of China Co.,Ltd. (PSBC) President Lu Wei stated that non-interest income serves as a critical lever for optimizing the bank's revenue mix and cementing its long-term growth foundation. The push to expand non-interest businesses is not an arbitrary target, but a strategic move driven by accumulated strengths and market momentum.

Lu Wei emphasized that the bank's years of customer and channel development have fostered deep trust among the general public, providing unique advantages for growing capital-light intermediary businesses such as wealth management and payment settlement. "Converting our customer base, channel network, and brand trust into tangible, sustainable non-interest income is the key task we are currently focused on," Lu Wei remarked.

Looking ahead, Lu Wei outlined five core areas for growth: strengthening wealth management operations, enhancing payment and settlement services, building out investment banking capabilities, consolidating the existing strengths of the treasury business, and accelerating the development of integrated cross-border financial services.

"In general, establishing this second growth curve through non-interest income is not a short-term move to scale up figures, but a long-term structural transformation. Postal Savings Bank Of China Co.,Ltd. holds multiple advantages in customers, channels, and brand, with a clear development path. I am confident that with persistent and dedicated efforts across the bank, our non-interest business will progress steadily and inject sustained momentum into our high-quality development," Lu Wei concluded.
