STANCHART Urges New Shareholders to Shift to E-Communication and Bank Mandates for HKD Dividends

Bulletin Express
08/18

Standard Chartered PLC (STANCHART) has issued a welcome notice to new shareholders, outlining options to streamline future communications and dividend payments.

The bank is encouraging investors to register for electronic delivery of shareholder materials via Computershare Hong Kong’s Investor Centre. By submitting an email address online or on the enclosed form, shareholders will stop receiving printed annual and half-year reports and will instead receive email alerts when documents are published. Those preferring hard-copy reports can still opt for English or Chinese versions by returning the relevant form.

If no response is received within 28 days, the default method will switch to online access, with postal notifications on how to view documents.

Dividend handling can also be automated. Shareholders may instruct that Hong Kong-dollar cash dividends be paid directly into a designated bank account by completing the attached dividend mandate. Alternatively, currency selection for US-dollar or sterling dividends can be made through the Investor Centre portal.

The notice reiterates data-privacy compliance under applicable laws and details signing requirements for joint holders, corporate representatives or powers of attorney. For further assistance, investors can contact Computershare Hong Kong Investor Services Limited at +852 2862 8555 or access information via sc.com/en/investors/shareholder-information.
