HSBC Confirms 17.18 Billion Ordinary Shares in Issue; Voting Rights Unchanged as of 30 July 2026

HSBC Holdings plc (HSBC) announced that, as at 30 July 2026, its issued share capital stood at 17.18 billion ordinary shares with a nominal value of US$0.50 each. The bank holds no shares in treasury, leaving the total number of voting rights identical to the number of shares in issue: 17.18 billion.

The disclosure, released pursuant to the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, provides the denominator that investors should use when calculating notifiable interests under both UK and Hong Kong regulatory frameworks.

Shareholders must reference the 17.18 billion figure when assessing whether their holdings trigger reporting thresholds under the FCA’s rules or Part XV of Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Ordinance.
