Avantor, Inc. (AVTR) shares surged 8.52% in pre-market trading on Wednesday following the release of the company's first-quarter 2026 financial results.

The materials science company reported quarterly earnings of $0.17 per share, surpassing the analyst consensus estimate of $0.16. Quarterly sales came in at $1.581 billion, also beating the estimated $1.543 billion. The company's results showed a gross profit of $500.7 million, operating income of $99.5 million, and net income of $43.3 million for the quarter.

In addition to the earnings beat, Avantor reaffirmed its full-year 2026 guidance, providing further confidence to investors about the company's financial outlook for the remainder of the year.
