Hong Kong Stocks in Focus: AI Computing Demand Fuels PCB Boom, CFMEE Surges Over 15%, DTECH Gains Over 7%

CFMEE (09630) shares climbed more than 15% to HK$323.80, while DTECH (01377) shares advanced over 7% to HK$363.00.

PCB-related stocks rose in the afternoon session. KB LAMINATES (01888) added 5.04% to HK$39.62, and VGT (02476) gained 4.29% to HK$223.60.

On the news front, CCTV Finance reported that the surge in AI computing demand has created a supply shortage for high-end printed circuit boards (PCBs), pushing prices steadily higher. Leading manufacturers have already secured orders through 2027. A manager at a mainboard production company noted that the PCB price increase began with high-speed boards, which are primarily used in large-scale computing server motherboards. The price hike for high-speed PCBs has far exceeded three to four times.

Where to focus

CITIC Securities issued a research report indicating that with the rising demand for orthogonal backplanes and the upgrade of Cowop processes, PCBs will increasingly resemble semiconductors in the future, with their value steadily climbing.

Reason for just a few stocks

Additionally, a number of PCB and copper-clad laminate listed companies have recently released their mid-year performance forecasts. Companies such as Dongshan Precision, Shengyi Electronics, Wus Printed Circuit, Shennan Circuits, and Shengyi Technology are all expected to report high growth in their half-year results.

China Galaxy Securities believes that with the continued development of AI, demand for high-multi-layer PCBs and HDI (High Density Interconnect) will remain strong, and companies along the industrial chain are likely to benefit from this trend.
