TVB Actor Appointed as Executive Director and Co-CEO of Listed Company with Annual Salary of HK$2.52 Million

On May 18, Yan Sang Group announced that Steven Ma Chun-wai will be appointed as an Executive Director, Vice Chairman of the Board, and Co-Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective May 20.

It is reported that Steven Ma has entered into a service agreement with Yan Sang Group for a term of three years. He will be responsible for overseeing the overall management and strategic planning of the group. For his appointment as Executive Director, Vice Chairman of the Board, and Co-Chief Executive Officer, he is entitled to an annual remuneration of HK$2,520,000. Additionally, he may be eligible to receive discretionary bonuses recommended by the company's Remuneration Committee and the Board of Directors, taking into account factors such as his responsibilities and prevailing market terms.

Steven Ma also posted on Weibo, stating: "A new day, a new chapter at Yan Sang. Grateful!"

According to previous reports, Hong Kong's Metro Broadcast Corporation issued an unexpected announcement on May 11, indicating that Steven Ma would resign as Chief Executive Officer effective May 20 for personal reasons. In early 2024, Steven Ma served as the Chief Operating Officer of Metro Broadcast. By July of last year, he officially assumed the role of CEO, but his tenure ended in less than a year.

Steven Ma is a former TVB actor, having starred in classic series such as "The Duke of Mount Deer," "Healing Hands," "Return of the Cuckoo," and "Where the Legend Begins." In 2020, he completed an EMBA program at Peking University. In recent years, he has been appointed to multiple public positions.
