In mid-March, Jiguan District's Diangong Primary School in Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, hosted a lively national defense technology handicraft exhibition titled "Strengthening the Military through Technology, Welcoming the Future with Childlike Hearts." Under the guidance of district armed forces personnel, students, teachers, and parent representatives transformed into "military craftsmen," skillfully using common materials such as wire, PVC pipes, cardboard, and plastic bottles to create over 100 models of major national defense assets.

This immersive educational activity integrated national defense awareness into hands-on experience, significantly enhancing participants' understanding of national security. On display were diverse models including the Dongfeng-41 intercontinental strategic nuclear missile, the Shandong aircraft carrier, and the Fujian aircraft carrier. Some participants outlined the contours of J-20 fighter jets with PVC pipes, while others constructed naval vessel frameworks from cardboard boxes.

"My father and I consulted numerous references, revising just the aircraft carrier deck details three times!" exclaimed fourth-grader Li Ruoxi while proudly displaying her homemade Fujian carrier model. "I want this warship to carry my dreams forward." Nearby, a submarine adorned with LED lights drew particular attention. "The propeller uses recycled bottle caps – it's both functional and eco-friendly!" proudly explained second-grader He Jinghan.

Principal Wang Xiangjun observed the children's focused engagement and creative output with satisfaction. "Involving parents allows children to enjoy family interaction while receiving practical national defense education," he noted. Prior to the event, the school disseminated defense knowledge through class social media groups and instructional videos, prompting many families to research military equipment structures collectively.

In recent years, the district armed forces department has regularly collaborated with schools to organize diverse "National Defense+" initiatives. "We aim to make defense education tangible, planting seeds of technological interest and patriotic responsibility through immersive experiences," stated a department representative. Future plans include developing activities like "Junior Military Equipment Designer" workshops and "Smart Equipment Challenges" to expand practical learning opportunities.

To amplify impact and ignite youth enthusiasm for defense technology, the school showcased all creations through its official social media channels. An online award ceremony recognized outstanding works, encouraging broader family participation in national defense activities while deepening patriotic values among the community.
